Is this a "generic" insulin?
No. There are no generic insulin
products. Novolin® is a brand name
for human insulin (rDNA origin) which is sold in Wal-Mart under the ReliOn® logo.
[Back to top] Who makes this insulin?
Novo Nordisk, a worldwide leader in diabetes cares and insulin development,
makes this human insulin. Since the discovery of insulin in 1921, virtually
every major breakthrough in diabetes treatment has originated in Novo
Nordisk laboratories.
[Back to top] Is there a difference between the way this and other human insulin
products work?
No. All human insulin products work the same way to lower your blood
glucose levels.
[Back to top] How should I store my human insulin?
Insulin should be stored in a refrigerator (but not in the freezer compartment).
If that's not possible, the vial you are currently using can be kept unrefrigerated
as long as it is kept as cool as possible and away from heat and sunlight.
[Back to top] Are there benefits to using these products?
Yes. This insulin is part of a comprehensive, value-priced line of diabetes
care products found exclusively at Wal-Mart. Ask your Wal-Mart pharmacist
about these products.
[Back to top] Whom do I contact if I have more questions?
Your physician, diabetes educator or Wal-Mart pharmacist can help
in most matters. Any medical concerns, however, including changes in blood
glucose levels, should be discussed with your physician. For specific questions
concerning ReliOn/Novolin brand human insulin, call 1.800.727.6500.
